Inspired by journey in her early 20s, Designer Dou came up ideas of FUJI and combined mountain-like silhouette with SEED iconic opal glass. Due to admiration for FUJI mountain from people, various images are transformed and seen everywhere in Japan — graphics, patterns, posters and festivals. For local people, the holly mountain is no doubt the power of culture cohesion, on the other hand, it’s also deep impression for foreign travelers.
When talks about her journey, similarities and differences between two cities would be the first thing arose. “Tokyo and Taipei are both capitals that highly populated with crowds, buildings and rush traffics around, people seem to be alike busy. However, there are always unique components that remind you where you actually are. Such as pastel redness of torii, it’s pretty different from the color red that we used to take in Taiwan.”
When getting close to issue of “syokunin”, which means “craftsmanship” in Japan, DOU shared aspect she discovered through local brands and select shops. “ In Japan, they pay attention to the whole process of building up the collection, and never neglect how they did it and why we should notice them. I think it’s a point that their narrative always comes with comprehensive and deep prospective inside .”
“Syokunin” is also an issue of self- awareness — enjoy the style you lead without being lost in catch trends. Understanding yourself with confidence should be the essence of the virtue. Since being enlightened through this mindful journey, DOU decides to realize her ideation within her design work—FUJI.
Mouth-blown opal glass is material which gently performances the purify craftmanship. With this elaborate material, although thickness of shade wouldn’t act precisely symmetrical, the luminance it expresses just as natural as how we feel when watching the sunrise in person. Rotary buckled on solid painted aluminum, the energy from LED module can aptly cooled down to avoid the excessive heat. Two color versions available: Matt brass and minimal matt black.
FUJI is able in compositions fit different interior styles and needs. Aside from standard types of single pendant and small clusters, FUJIPF12 allows much more configurations and being the focal point in the space.
Hangers mounted on the ceiling add visual interests into cable. By keeping fragments on top, cable extends the lights within other axes. In practical way, lights can also easily crossed among different spaces with an only electrical outlet.
Fresh, classy and soothing, FUJI light interprets places into tranquil ambience with freedom.

Before celebrating for our 27th anniversary, we are delighted to announce the new page for SEEDDESIGN – the New Concept Store opens in Hsinchu, where is considered as Silicon Valley in Taiwan. As the center of technology and vigorous innovation, this city somehow shares an image with busy dizzy pace. But For SEED, we want to convey another sense of life. Located in a school zone with green landscape, the new store shares a gallery -like and unique tranquility with visitors.
Interior was designed by TID Award winner Indot Design team based in Taipei. Through the wide, clear window, mellow scene of community was seen along with natural brightness. Flexibility in spatial plans and lighting arrangements was obtained by the base of plain white, earthy and neutral colors.
We also reserve spacious space for large configurations such as FUJI P12, APOLLO, and also stay the smooth traffic flow. Besides from traditional retail store, artsy elements such as display frame create even more chances of interacting and idea generating.
The New Concept Store is freshly opened to both the public and designers. Take a breath and come and discover new image of SEEDDESIGN!

Tracing back to inspiration of APOLLO, designer Chen, Chao Cheng shared his memory of fascinating beach sunset. With mixture of yellow and orange, wispy clouds state in the bloody sky, that’s a very magic moment that he could only kept starring at the sky until it all went dark.
“From dawn to dusk, everyone senses and attracted by the change of sky, that’s why I wish to create a fixture that channel the natural brightness from outside.” said Chen.
Shade was made of aluminum alloy sheet, the circular shape was refined with holistic measurement of LED module arrangement and reflection. While the module integrated behind the metal cap, the huge shade embraces and sheds the light at the same time, preventing the light from being visible and causing glare.
Touch dimmer allows to adjust the light brightness gradually. Features of organic atmosphere, the solid beech wood tripods steady balance with the solar-like shade.
Simple yet eye-catching, APOLLO collection offers pendant and floor lamp, aiming to make a big impression among space.

Designed by Chen, Chao-Cheng (Meiric), MOAI was inspired by stone statues of Easter Island. As metalized structure embodies the oblong nose of their faces, mouth blown glass was reimagined by its transparency and beautiful silhouette. Providing atmospheric, ambient glow, light moves through the sphere, bouncing off the clear glass shade and create unique egg- shaped reflection. While seeing the MOAI, who brings the ancient legend to us, as if hearing the heartbeat from southern island, feeling deep breathe from ocean scene.
For clear shade, MOAI could comfortably fit in various residential style, brings no worry of pendant lamp interfering the stylish arrangement. Offered in copper or bronze versions, the dimmable LED fixture casts a warm and serene glow.
The well-handcrafted lamp is available in different sizes: S, M, L and XL that can be displayed alone or in a group for greater visual impact.
