The Red Dot Award is an internationally renowned design competition, celebrated for selecting the best designs in various categories each year. We are thrilled to announce that our OLO Φ table lamp has won the esteemed Red Dot Award for Product Design in 2021, standing out among many respected candidates.
The OLO Φ table lamp, designed by Li, Hui-Lun, is inspired by geometric forms, offering a classic yet modern aesthetic. This award-winning lamp features superior glare-free LED lighting with a high color rendering index (CRI>90), ensuring excellent light quality. The light is evenly diffused through an adjustable hollow shade, which can rotate 290 degrees, making it adaptable to various usage scenarios while adding artistic aesthetics to any space.
The unique shape and innovation of the OLO Φ table lamp provide a new perspective and lighting experience. The challenge of integrating a sophisticated mechanical structure into its bulbless lampshade was met with great success. By building a direct relationship between the object and the user, the OLO Φ combines superior lighting performance with pure practicality, delivering multifunctional results.
Our success is a result of the collaborative efforts between our designer and R&D engineers, who always transform the ordinary into the extraordinary. The OLO Φ table lamp is a testament to this teamwork, resulting in a product that is both functional and visually appealing.

SQUARE, echoes in its name, being straight and forward with its subtle and absolutely streamlined design, yet delicate and sun-like light source.
“ I’d skip the second stroke as long as I can create a design at one.” said SEED’s design director, Chao-Cheng Chen. Collaborating with refined metal craftsmanship, the philosophy of purity and practicality has been implemented toward the SQUARE that implants the effortlessly streamline with elegance and precision.
Obsessive to the quality of light, the lampshade is extended as a pair of wings preventing glare from the bright light.
Touchless sensor switch
Inherited the direct relationship between the light and the person taking into account, the luminaire of the SQUARE can adapt to any mood in a second. Easy waves near a user’s hand are all it takes to change the brightness and even the color temperature. The SQUARE offers a premium user’s experience whenever cooler light for work, natural light for dining, or warm light for relaxing scenarios.

Along with the sunset, lamps continually bring brightness to the houses, and the quality of light is the essence deciding how the objects present to the eyes. While the Color Rendering Index (CRI) 100 shows the objects’ real color under the sunlight, the SQUARE brilliantly delivers a high-quality CRI 98 luminaire, inducing a beautiful texture to daily life.

Ideas came from self-sedimentation, the designer was keen to have a modest-sized lamp fitted to a favorite corner to accompany us at every joyful moment. The new PENSÉE reinterprets the iconic rotating dimming base and mouth-blown opal glass shade, upgraded with high CRI LED reflects soft light through the glass that fantastically induces a calming-type effect.

Our passion is to link mechanical construction with design aesthetics, it’s in our DNA. That makes sense with the exclusive DJ dimmer integrated into its seamless body_ you can’t even note the switch adjusting brightness sliding by fingertips, how cool and fun!
True love waits: Brushing Finish
Different from straight lines or concentric circles, we want the surface treatment in an intriguing way. Centered reflections swirl like a shiny wheel, the new Pensee illustrates how the surface treatment creates this beautiful texture. Every piece is manually polished by repeatedly spin and radiate brush from the center outwards that leaves the eternal spirit of craftsman sealed in each work.
Wrapping up the depth of mind: Mouth-blown Glass
Thanks to many years of experience and hands-on knowledge, our glassblowers have a comprehensive understanding of how materials should be treated to achieve the best results. Every mouth-blown glass is required 1400 degrees in a furnace and shaped by skilled artisans, who bring up the shade diffusing a fascinating light through the transparent color layered opal. As a metaphor of waxing gibbous hidden a wise insight.
The new extension of wall lamp
Following the well-received table lamp, a new extension of the wall lamp is now available. Likewise, it’s equipped with a funky DJ on/off switch. Just a gentle slide tuning on the soothing light, you’ll be immediately transported into a sunny, warm place with a personal touch.
New Colors: Sand Gold/ Matt Black
In addition to the refined hairline satin finish that looks great for everything, the new PENSÉE is now available in new colorways: Sand gold brings a touch of elegance coordinated with the opal shade; Matt black, understated yet contemporary style choice, perfect for every corner.
In 2017 and 18, SEED successively launched two representative large-size floor lamps APOLLO MEGA and SOL MEGA. The eye-catching design and ultra-high light quality have well received by designers and quickly spread out in various interior projects.
Apart from mega-size, at the beginning of 2021, we extend both to another compact version, approaching the demand for petit chic spaces in modern life. Aiming to build the direct relationship between the object and people, APOLLO F and SOL F combines superior lighting performance with pure practicality to deliver multi-functional results.
SOL F
SOL collection is a low-key design with elaborate consideration, its ring-like lampshade is finely affixed to a metallic luster balance bar, demonstrating the definition of understated luxury. The floor lamp is now available in a petite size. The new “Retractable Tube Structure” allows users to adjust the height in need whenever reading at the desk or being stuck on the sofa. Built-in sensor dimmer interacts cleverly with users delivering the right amount of ambient light.

APOLLO floor lamp got its tripod firmly supports the huge shade, along with the touch-dimmer allows you to tune the brightness gradually. The floor lamps are used to be underestimated and taken for granted, yet it actually plays a pivotal role in spaces.
An extraordinary floor lamp can magically make a room being spirited and full of personal style. An additional benefit is, different from pendants and wall lamps, floor lamps can be easily relocated wherever you stay. Its existence has a comforting effect on people feeling warm and secure by the object you are familiar with, which continuously delivering brightness. After all, a home is where the heart is.
Through metallurgy, forging and shaping technologies, mankind has transformed various kinds of mines into hardwares in life with an alchemist touch. In order to make the objects more exquisite and durable, the essentials of metals have been continuously expired with new processes of technology by artisans across generations.
Metals have become an integral and ubiquitous part of the SEED design aesthetic, from raw casting to surface treatment, what are the processes completing a piece of work? In which steps require great skill from dedicated artisans to perform with? In this article we are going to reveal the precision and accuracy hidden in the details.
“ Everything in its right place ”
In SEED, carbon steel, aluminum and copper are often used on the products proform. While in the design process, engineers who have solid mechanical knowledge get involved together applying the right materials according to the physical properties, to approach the original design concept.
▲ Made with aluminum, a material that is strong, flexible, flat and acatable to enhance the heat transfer efficiency toward high temperature of LED modules, MUMU series are shaped by extrusion with a sculptor’s elegance and precision.
▲ The steady APOLLO was also formed with aluminum. On account of sufficient thickness, it could be more durable while practically adjusting the shade.
“ An uncut gem goes not sparkle ”
Welding & Polishing
“Being detail-oriented in design” is consistently self-demanding of SEED.
It’s really common to see the frames and tubes in SEED collections. The key to performing the seamless connection of joints is the finely welding and carefully engineered preliminary process. Each component has been hand-held and polished by various particles of high-speed grinding wheel back and forth. Gradually the surface becomes more and more smooth with the shiny sparkle flashes around. What we are looking for is to give it that real craftsmanship look, ensuring the neatness for the following surface treatment plating or painting.
▲“See the green flame,” the welder says jokingly, “we call it a ghost light.” It is also crucial to wipe out traces of alien material before going to the coloring phase, which is why SEED invents a unique solution in the fire that will be able to remove the slag while welding process at the same time.
▲HUAN is accomplished with multiple welding and polishing processes, meticulously connecting the joints with the outer ring as a one-piece work.

“ Fine feathers make fine birds ”
Surface treatment has had an instrumental effect, not just on anti-oxidation prolonging the lifetime, but also on how the products are designed in response to the colors and texture demands.
▲ Something hidden within the superlative simplicity, CHINA table lamp is being phased by the extraordinary skill: applying the matt black painting on the preliminary copper plating, then brushing the edge a little just right to the point reveals the antique copper shines in the dark. We are obsessive to give that purity and elegance.

▲ Color combos with calmly painted shade and metallic luster ring that generates a matt surface with fewer reflections, HUAN geometrically presents gentle and comfortable vibes.
Grinding away the bevels and burrs to realize its essential feature of the metal and coloring on that, a Seed lamp was borned. We simplified our products to the finest, and discarded all unwanted decoration, weaving every lifestyle for homes.

After a long wait from March to November, Design Shanghai finally came to a successful conclusion at the end of this uncertain year 2020.
2020 has been a tough year, the world has faced many unexpected challenges.
And yet, still, we keep on creating new designs of lights. Together we face the long night side by side, waiting for dawn breaking and the sunshine.

Practical Simplicity
SEED Design Director Meiric, who has solid mechanics background, he believes that giving the fixtures adjustable functionality allows for more exploration of lighting scenarios. Patented Structural Engineering Innovation

CHINA 2004 debuted by its patented structure. The modern concept of “DJ base” is integrated into the minimalist, low-key oriental lines, and the seemingly refined and calm appearance is actually elegantly dimmable
JOJO along the wires going up and down just echoes the playful yo-yo. With the invisible pulley and well-calculated counterweight, the wire length is adjustable by moving it’s opal glass shade veristically, which is impressively smoothly and handily to operate. From 1994 till now, it is still a WOW design when shown in the global fairs.

In 2005, the designer was thinking about how to shift the light to multiple positions in order to serve each seat around a table, and then the KAZOKU was born. Rotating the cross bar horizontally to change the arm either linear “-”or cross “+” , the transformer has meeting every user’s need in getting a comfortable light. No matter for work or dining purpose, we are pleased to serve each joyful family gathering to stay emotionally intact.
These three iconic structures have even been well received in global markets for decades, so that they were all upgraded and embedded with new versions to meet recently modern lifestyle.

Hidden Extraordinary Craftsmanship in the Fine Details

SOL, launched in 2019 Q3, the cutting-edge design elaborates its details of appearance, function, and innovation, expressing the spirit of SEEDOLOGY we abide by.
The metallic bar in the center is more than just an ornament, it’s a balance device which allows the fixture to be able to change the light angle even after installed. Each installation is unique, the multiple apertures of light are arranged to create an endless galaxy of star shifting atmosphere. Ideally installed in groups of two or three, they rotate to the custom configuration dictated by the size and shape of a space, geometrically emits an ambient light.
Followed by Christmas eve of 2019, the SIRCLE is available in elegant sand gold finishing perfectly combine with warm mouth-blown opal glasses. By flipping the opal shade in and out of the metal frame, the designer succeeds in creating the fantacy of floating milky twilight.
2020 is the year we need love and light more than ever when things are mixed up with the unknown. We groped our way through the fuzzy clouds, as a metaphor, DAWN is the first light for us. By the collaboration between the built-in physical structure “Double Helix” and the optical accessory “Zoom Lens”, the light is able to change the beam angle by zoom in and out. In addition to floodlight and focus, it can also be a wall washer, creating a natural sense of art in the space. As the dark clouds recede and the dawn emerges, DAWN is not only beyond the scope of a lamp, but also enriches the natural mission of a lamp.

Thanks to all guests who attended our launch party, and shared a wonderful afternoon with us in autumn 2020.
As the theme of the year, “UNKNOWN” suggests, we are groping in the unknown and trying to deal with various struggles in business, and the same goes for life.
The party began with opening remarks from the Meiric, the design director, who gave us a small talk sharing his experiences, insights and some interesting stories. How we stood firm in an unfriendly environment and how we turned the corner to keep going while facing many obstacles and odds. Just like his quote of “The Little Big Man” poem by Rabindranath Tagore, the courage of taking challenges has been gradually shaping who we are now, and that absolutely echoes the spirit of breaking through the framework of the unknown.
The next session, let’s get down to new designs and focus on the presentation today.

There is an ever-changing view through the circle frame,

Each unexpected glimpse is all about the touching, beautiful scenery.
Inspired from a unique, oriental, landscaping architecture_ Moon Gate, HUAN was created by the young designer Rou who was attracted by this poetic idea and applied it to her lighting design.
A dialogue between light and space
Eastern aesthetics focuses on the appreciation of the dark— the shadows, the different shades of light. Using the techniques of framing, HUAN brilliantly combines Western geometric composition and the Eastern aesthetics of blank space, presents a gentle and comfortable moment, weaving the boutique-style for homes.

Effectively eliminates the glare and softens the lights, reserving a moderate amount of light and eye comfort.
User-friendly installation
Simply unscrew the fixing fitting to pick up the glass plate, replacing the bulb is intuitively simple and effortless.
Four calming colors, more choices
In addition to the classic color scheme of black and white, HUAN S is now available in new color combos of olive green + sand gold, and navy blue + copper. The coastal calm colors balance the favorite nooks with peaceful and refreshing vibes.

HUAN is transferrable to a wide range of interior elements. It does not scream for attention to be the centerpiece of the room but quietly fits in so many different styles as you can see.

Feel like morning sun changes in seconds
With the Double-thread structure and Optical zoom lens, it gives the light’s rich ability to change the beam angle. Admire its ease of use by rotation: clockwise tighten the lens shade to distribute a soften illumination; Or counterclockwise the lens shade to focus the light on the object. The DAWN series combines superior lighting performance with pure practicality to deliver multi-functional results.
DAWN PL4 collects 4 lamps into a linear suspension, each lamp is individual for flexible beam angle and light direction adjustment by simply rotating the lens shade. No matter focusing the luminaire on the delicacy; Or spread the light evenly creating a suitable reading zone, DAWN PL4 can be set exactly to suit your needs.

DAWN P1 can be multiple used to various user scenarios, for dining table, the bar table, or just one fitting hang at the bedside. P1 creates countless compositions as a symphony of light. The tube version allows us to position the light direction by moving its body vertically and horizontally.
DAWN WR / DAWN CW（Ceiling/ Wall）
Besides zoomable beam angle, the wall lamp is equipped with a gradual touch dimmer that provides more flexibility for bedtime reading or entrance corridor when coming back to the sweet home. Ceiling/ Wall lamp is made for dual-purpose, for ceiling usage you are free to project downwards and zoom the light cone, creating an atmospheric space.
