This year, we unveiled the opening of Design Shanghai 2024. These highlights drive playful creations, meet complex design needs, and let the imagination soar.
Mr. DJ, one of our latest designs, stands out with its pure mechanical aesthetics and genuine brass gears showcased through an intriguing clear DJ base. KONNECT presents a range of pendant and desk lamps with flippable lampshades, blending striking design with practicality. The new HALO series features intricate pleated fabric shades and high-CRI 90 light sources, replicating natural sunlight.

Along the aisle, visitors engaged with a wide range of classic products, including SQUARE, WÚ, and MIST LED. As they turned to view the unobstructed 4.1-meter-high main section, many gathered around the luminaires with curiosity. It’s wonderful to see how these interactions deepen the bond between people and light.

Many years ago, Meiric visited Florence and was intrigued by the “Jersey Barrier”, a modular concrete employed to separate lanes of traffic, that stood in the middle of the square. The delicate work of the fence amazed him and broke his stereotype against “cement objects”. While he was impressed, a bold idea occurred to him: “Is it possible to use cement as a material for lighting?”
That’s where it all began the following cement materials experiment for over two years.
At that time, you could never see a cement lamp in the market, every experimental idea was an adventure. At the beginning it was even difficult to reach a breakthrough making the cement strong enough to avoid cracking. After a series of failures, the R&D team turned to looking for a composite material. In a series of approaches eventually coming up with a formula and appropriate temperature that effectively accelerated the concrete curing and crystallized in this way encloses the aggregate particles and produces a dense material , ensuring its comprehensive and impact strengths by a critical 40-degree impact test. The mold, on the other hand, is hand-made with inner high-precision silicone rubber + outer plaster for easy demolding and for giving that delicate and smooth texture.
In addition to material innovation, another key factor to make this work is the production process management.
The mixed cement has to be evacuated by vacuum machine to 6~8 cmHg (Centimetres of mercury, while the atmospheric pressure is 76 cmHg). After the machine stops stirring, the concrete material begins to solidify. At this time, the master has to precisely control the timing and volume of the grout, keeping it slow, and focusing on every detail, while filling into the mold. Any tiny slip-up in this stage may result in unwanted imperfections such as cracks or holes.
In order to prevent the shade from cracking by dramatical change of temperature and humidity, there is a wash-and-soak procedure extending the dry-up period. The cement crystallized in this way encloses the aggregate particles and produces a dense material. Each piece is gently hand washed and polished by P600 sandpaper back and forth one at a time and carefully wiped and patted dry., and it is then removed outdoor 5-7 days for drying. A cement lampshade is officially completed.
Light offers a subtle, ever-present glow, embracing the brightness of day and the serenity of night, illuminating the indescribable moments of everyday life.

The ‘CHINA’ collection debuted two decades ago in 2004, drawing on Eastern inspiration and minimalism. Today, HALO gently reawakens this classic, with a pleated fabric shade that evokes the warmth of tradition. Its soft glow brings a quiet familiarity to modern spaces, blending nostalgia with contemporary elegance.
The hollow ring design encases a high color-rendering light source, distributing light evenly across the handmade pleated fabric through precise optics, leaving no harsh shadows along the rim while eliminating glare. This design reimagines the warm glow of tungsten lighting, subtly elevating everyday spaces with quiet elegance.

Taipei — a city where lights flicker and stories intertwine, bearing witness to the passing of time.
As 2025 unfolds, the SEED Taipei Concept Store reopens after over nine months of thoughtful renovation, bringing renewed light to the city.
More than a showroom, the renewed space combines SEED’s full lighting collection across themed floors—each a quiet experiment in light and space. Every detail has been refined—from spatial flow to a rich palette of materials, including warm wood, pristine white, textured concrete, and custom finishes. Together, they reveal the many expressions of light and how it subtly transforms space.

Across three afternoons during the opening, we welcomed many friends from the industry—including interior designers, media professionals, and long-time collaborators—to share in this delightful occasion.
Following a warm welcome from the host and a presentation of the classics by our senior specialists. Our in-house designers took the stage across three weeks, each week featuring a different voice: our Design Director, a senior designer, and a new-generation talent. They shared their creative journeys—from the first spark of inspiration to the challenges of bringing each idea to life. They spoke of the delicate balance between structure and beauty, and the technical hurdles that shaped their designs. Through each story, it became clear: a light is never just a product—it is a thoughtful exploration of illumination and life.
We appreciate everyone who joined us and made these afternoons so meaningful.

Breaking with the conventional notion of one-way lighting, KONNECT showcases light in a variety of ways between functional lighting and configurable art decors by arranging LED panels so that spaces can take on different styles with your mood, whether you want them to be lit at different angles going up or down.

Benefiting from a precise cutting and forming process, trapezoidal cuts can be viewed from every side. The fluidity of each line relies on a refined one-piece molding method to achieve the ultimate screw-free requirement with its flexibility of Polycarbonate.
While the Color Rendering Index (CRI) 100 shows the objects’ real color under the sunlight, the Konnect brilliantly delivers a high-quality CRI 98 luminaire inducing a beautiful texture to daily life.
Introducing the newly enlarged KONNECT P10 – designed to seamlessly adapt to various luxury spaces. The standout feature is its ability to effortlessly captivate attention with every movement, building up dramatic tension. With the innovative Seed-jack joint, the KONNECT P10 boasts a remarkable 80% reduction in package size. Even with an expanded diameter of maximum 108cm, the KONNECT P10 significantly reduces material usage and carbon footprint.

The new extension of the desk lamp provides versatile illumination through its multiple forms. With its sleek yet flexible design, it adds a striking touch to any space.

KONNECT PL4 provides just the right amount of brightness for the workplace with a length of 96 cm. You can handily flip the shade and switch to indirect lighting for a relaxing, muted mood.
KONNECT PL6 offers a wider range of illumination by simply adjusting the angle of the lampshade to the brightness and light direction you desire.

Taking advantage of the physical properties of Polycarbonate, KONNECT fixes the lamp shade and diffuser with only 8 cards, achieving glue-free, easy removal for future maintenance and recycling.
The excellent LED light quality is also highly efficient and can be lasting for a long time, when a malfunction occurs, the board can be handily replaced avoiding potential reverse logistics.
In addition to using recycled paper pulp for packaging, the lamp can be minimized to a flat shape reducing the size and carbon footprint generated during transportation. All of which sustainability and durability are implemented caring for the environment.

SEEDDESIGN returned to Light + Building in 2024 after 6 years. Across 9,455 kilometers and 7 time zones, efficient rail transport and planned streetscapes welcome us warmly. The city’s pulse, vibrant as ever, exudes energy and creativity.
Our booth design showcased large black exteriors and white interiors, accentuating our products and drawing visitors in. Short video demos featuring WÚ, SOL, and TRAM were a crowd favorite, captivating audiences with visual and musical effects that demonstrated the interactive structure of the products.

After over thirty years of innovation in the lighting sector, SEED made its grand entrance in M&O Paris this year, marking a significant milestone. This showcase stands as our first major exhibition post-pandemic, and we couldn’t be more thrilled.
We were ecstatic to engage with a diverse array of attendees, including local architects and international guests, at the 2023 M&O Paris. Treasure the“Me time” no matter reading or meditation, a good bedside lamp can fit in so many different styles interiors for various of calming activities. Following are the tips and our recommendations guide you to choose the right one, sweet dream.
#Take the personal using habit into your consideration.
If you frequently read before sleep, a sufficient light would be absolutely needed to support, for example the rotatable lamp type allows to adjust the light direction to your object without interrupting your bedmate. (such as OLO, MUMU, LING…etc.) Or, if you used to phub your phone before bed, the dimmable light will help to deliver a slight brightness; Even better with glass shade more for atmosphere as the light is soften through the glass to the surrounding, exudes warmth and a feeling of security. (such as SIRCLE, DORA, JOJO LED)
#Proper position matters
Position the lamp at a height level between eyes and shoulders when sitting on the bed, no matter which lamp type like wall, pendant or table lamp, this is the proper height that offers sleepers the comfortable light preventing from glare.

SIRCLE, a symbolization merged Square and Circle, inspired by the East aesthetic philosophy, the circular light ball just like a soft tender mind leaning on a sound substantial frame, chemically shaped a harmonious feature with its flexible body inside-out. Meanwhile, the fantastic performance of light through the opal mouth-blown glass, spreading the beauty of moonlight all over the space.

MUMU
Designer Kuo, Keng Dian
Combining the coolness of metal and the warmth of wood, MUMU appears simple, peaceful yet detailed. The round angle of the edge balanced the sharpness of lines, and the 320° rotation is quite user friendly.
DORA
Designer Chang, Ting Ting/ Li, Hui Lun
Oh So Chic! One of the popular collections DORA since 2015, which was inspired by designer Ting’s childhood, who wanted to create a collection that was versatile, interactive, and fun! Dora is adorable as jewelry, being crystal and shine, either pendant or wall lamp will be a good fit for the bedside.

LING

With an airy grace, LING provides ample lighting yet remains clean and seamless. A twin lamp with uplight and downlight allows it emits ambient and projecting light at the same time. The rotating design echoed the practical spirit, which is more than beautiful but thoughtful.
